New “road-book” published by Apulia Region: Bicitalia 10, cycling from Bari to Naples and Matera in Southern Italy
The itinerary described, representing the Bicitalia route No. 10, shows the best route in existence today for reaching the capital of the Campania region as well as Matera (Basilicata region) starting from Bari, and for discovering from the height of the bicycle seat some roads as secondary as possible, and the landscapes typical of the Murgia and the southern Apennines.
The publication, also in English, is a new tool required by the Department of Infrastructure and Mobility of the Apulia Region, to encourage the use of bicycles as a means of transportation through cities and towns, for interconnections between towns and long distance travel and, above all, to promote cycle tourism along Bicitalia and EuroVelo routes.
