Invitation to join Tallinn Summer School 'Capital of Free Public Transport' 22-24 August
Today, many cities and regions are facing an urgent need to increase ticket fares and thus risk further undermining the usage of public transport. As public transport is usually already subsidized well over 50%, more and more cities have started to ask the fundamental question – why not shift to completely free public transport to justify these heavy subsidies, to substantially increase public transport usage and decrease car traffic?
The event is addressing local, regional, national and European level policy planners, NGOs, researchers and lobby groups interested in the cross-relating issues of mobility, transport, environment, social cohesion, economy, budget, and spatial planning.
