Île-de-France Mobilités offers 500 euros e-bike purchase incentive

Since December 2019 Île-de-France Mobilités is granting Ile-de-France residents an incentive ranging from 500 to 600 euros to purchase an electric bike.

The ceilings take into account local aid received and are reduced accordingly:

• New purchase of an electrically assisted bicycle: 50% of the price including tax, ceiling at 500 euros (Ile-de-France Mobilities assistance + any local assistance).
• New purchase of a cargo bike with electric assistance: 50% of the price including tax, ceiling at 600 euros (Île-de-France Mobilities aid + local aid, if any).

Certain safety accessories (basket, helmet, anti-theft device) can also be covered by the aid as soon as they appear on the same invoice as the bicycle.

The bonus of 500 euros for the purchase of an electric bicycle is not allocated by the Île-de-France Region, but by Île-de-France Mobilités, the organizing authority for public transport in Île-de- France.

Buying an electric bike after testing Véligo Location

Announced in September 2019 in the wake of the launch of Véligo Location, the regional long-term rental service of electric bikes, this purchase aid was originally intended to apply to purchases made from February 2020. Date at which the first users of Véligo Location had to arrive at the end of their first 6 month rental period.

The inclusion of bikes purchased from December 1, 2019 (and not February 2020 as originally planned) was decided following the disruptions in public transport that occurred from December 5, 2019.

A bonus for any purchase of an electrically assisted bicycle

The e-bike purchase incentive is not exclusive for Véligo Location subscribers. Every citizen in Ile-de-France Regions can apply for the incentive.

The annual budget for this measure amounts to 12 million euros per year from 2020. Île-de-France Mobilités estimates that between 20,000 and 30,000 Ile-de-France residents will apply for this aid each year.
