We are happy to inform you that the upcoming Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union will organise – with the support of UNIFE, UITP, EUROCITIES and POLIS – a European seminar on:

Developing urban rail transport:
Environmental performances and financing solutions

This event will take place in Malta on 27 April (afternoon) and 28 April 2017 (morning) and will bring together representatives of local Governments, urban operators and rail equipment suppliers from all over Europe. 

At a time where European urban areas are engaged in fighting against congestion and pollution, this event will be a unique opportunity to learn about best practices in Europe when it comes to:

• developing an urban rail system (tram/metro) and integrating it in a multimodal public transport system
• finding the way to finance the development of such an urban rail system (cf. EU grants, EFSI, EIB, etc.)

The upcoming Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union will soon send the official invitations but it is important for you to already note down the dates in your agendas.
