Cities keen to boost their knowledge on bike sharing: New Polis working group launched

Polis working groups are a learning platform for technical staff of cities and regions that exchange knowledge on their first hand experience. Amsterdam, Arnhem Nijmegen region, Berlin, Budapest, Gothenburg, London, Madrid, Prague, Rotterdam, Stuttgart region and Zürich already join the new bike sharing working group's first meeting today, along with experts from the European Cyclists' Federation. The involved cities have either already set up bike sharing schemes or are preparing to do so and are eager to learn from the findings of their peers across Europe.

The members of the new working group today explore challenges and solutions cities are facing with their cycle hire schemes including to gather and share data on cycle hire. Benchmarking of operational information, financial aspects and analytical customer technology, (open) standards, and customer engagement are among the topics of today's inaugural working group meeting.

The new working group is open to cities and regions that are member of the Polis netowork, and selected external experts.
