Call for data on local employment in the cycling sector in European cities and regions: Deadline extended to 31 January 2016

WHO/Europe, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are collaborating in a project under the Transport Health and Environment Pan-European Programme (THE PEP) to highlight the job creation potential of cycling.

"We understand that in many cities, only very little or no information is available. Nevertheless, we would very much appreciate that you complete the questionnaire as far as possible for your city and return it to us, even if empty" said Mr Christian Schweizer, Technical Officer, Transport and Health at WHO Regional Office for Europe, in Copenhagen.

  • A guidance note for more details on the project is available here.
  • Data collected should be reported in the questionnaire spreadsheet and returned to Ian Skinner (ian.skinner@tepr.co.uk) by 31 January 2016.

The publication resulting from this project will be presented at the 8th Environment for Europe Ministerial Conference in Batumi (Georgia) from 8 to 10 June 2016.

Polis has been cooperating with THE PEP since 2012 under the Environment & Health in Transport pillar. For more information on THE PEP, please visit the website.
