Arnhem Nijmegen launches pilot project for fast bikeway direction signs

New purple coloured signposts will appear in different shapes and sizes in a number of locations. The pilot will test cyclists appreciation of the new signs and what the final design in the whole region. If the test is successful, the signs will likely to be used in other regions in the Netherlands.

These new set of signposts aim to improve the awareness and visibility of fast bikeways and make it easier for cyclists to find their way. The direction signs will have several distinctive features. The purple colour design will carry a bikeway logo, as well as the route name.

Users feedback will be collected through surveys which will be posted on the fast bikeways’ websites. Results of the pilot are expected at the end of the summer 2014.
