Arnhem-Nijmegen City Region chosen to host Velo-city 2017
"The city-region Arnhem-Nijmegen was chosen due to the overall excellent quality of a very integral bid, presented by an excellent team, supported by strong political commitment from the authorities on all levels – including the national minister of transport – and the community of stakeholders, including the bicycle user organization Fietsersbond, the academia, knowledge institutions and the cycling industry" said today Dr Bernhard Ensink, Secretary General of the European Cyclists’ Federation.
Congratulations to Arnhem-Nijmegen, "they will make a fantastic conference in 2017, one that no participant ever will forget!" stated Manfred Neun, President of the European Cyclists’ Federation.
The previous European Velo-city conference has welcomed over 1,400 delegates at Velo-city 2013 in Vienna. The next edition of Velo-city will take place in Nantes, France - yet another Polis member! - from 2-5 June 2015.
