TUMI: Making Public Transport Attractive the Vienna Way
In times of a global pandemic, there is a lot to learn from pioneering cities of sustainable mobility. In the Austrian capital Vienna, public transport and active mobility comprise 71% of the modal share. The Wiener Weg or ‘Vienna Way’ is often quoted as a model of an urban and environmentally friendly transport policy approach. A well-known example is the 365€ annual ticket, which has promoted the city’s reputation for public transport far beyond.
To what extent, however, can this model be applied to other cities? What are advantages and risks associated with this approach? How can public transport be (re-)promoted?
To answer these questions and to identify policy recommendations for decision-makers in other cities, Friedemann Brockmeyer (civity Management Consultants) explains the most important policy decisions in Vienna and their impact on public transport for the webinar series #mobilizeminds by TUMI.
The webinar takes place on Wednesday 13 May at 15:00 CEST. You can register here.
