Mobility Planning for Resilient Cities SUMP Topic Guide - Have your say!
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability of our way of life, and planners have become more aware that creating resilience beyond the immediate needs of this current health crisis is necessary. For this reason, CIVITAS-SATELLITE, supported by the projects from the CIVITAS initiative, is preparing a SUMP Topic Guide covering the topic of Resilience. With COVID-19 as the initial impetus for the creation of this guide, this document is designed to guide cities responding to the COVID-19 crisis while also contributing to increase resilience in the long-term and being better prepared for future crises that will undoubtedly arise.
After a short introduction to the process and document by Susanne Böhler-Baedeker (Rupprecht Consult), Ivo Cré and Laura Babío (POLIS), an interactive discussion will collect feedback to make the guidance truly relevant for urban mobility stakeholders. Organisers wish to invite interested stakeholders to feed into the development of the SUMP Topic Guide on Resilience to ensure that this guidance provides suitable information and advice for local authorities to increase resilience of cities and prepare them for future crises.
This is a public webinar. Stakeholders are invited to join this session, learn more about th Mobility Planning for Resilience SUMP Guidance and contribute to the discussion. The document will be published online next week and those that register will receive it via email. A written consultation process will be online until 22 January 2021.
The webinar takes place on Friday 15 January at 13:00 - 14:00 CET. Interested participants can register here.
