GeoSence workshop on geofencing zones for escooters
GeoSence presents an in-person workshop on geofencing for escooters
30 November, 2021; 9:00-12:00 CET
Cities are facing many challenges with e-scooters today regarding both safety and the attractiveness of the urban areas. Geofencing has a big potential to solve some of the issues but there is a need for the cities to better understand how geofencing zones can be created, communicated, maintained and improved.
To register email GeoSence project manager rodrigue.alfahel@lindholmen.se with your name, email and organisation.
There is also the possibility to join online via Teams. Please use this link to join.
The GeoSence workshop will present ongoing initiatives that are dealing with these issues, present e-scooter use case in GeoSence and discuss other potential solutions and challenges.
GeoSence is a (JPI) Urban Europe geofencing project funded by European Union's Horizon 2020 and gathers partners from Germany, Norway, Sweden and UK.
The overall objective of the project (running from April 2021 to March 2024) is to design, trial and evaluate geofencing concepts and solutions for specific cases in cities, within the project and from other previous and ongoing geofencing initiatives, and to propose new ways of successfully deploying geofencing technologies. Tools for implementation, as well as approaches to scale-up and spread the innovation further in Europe will be proposed including e.g. ways of integrating geofencing functionalities in the decision making, built environment and traffic management in cities.
The workshop will take place at Lindholmen Science Park, conference room Decibel, between 09:00 - 11:55 on the 30th of November. Below you can find the agenda for the day:
