EASIER Final Conference
The partners of the EU research project EASIER, including POLIS’ Associate Member Deutsches Institut für Urbanistik (Difu) are excited to announce their upcoming Conference on Seamless Sustainable Everyday Urban Mobility. Scheduled for 22-23 April 2024 at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the event promises to be a fundamental gathering for experts and enthusiasts in the field.
EASIER (Seamless sustainable everyday urban mobility), a 3-year research initiative involving academic and practical partners from Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Sweden, has assessed enhancing sustainable modes of transportation and improving public transit systems. The project is funded by ERA-NET Cofund Urban Accessibility and Connectivity (ENUAC) by JPI Urban Europe and has run from 2021-2024. The conference will serve as a platform to share insights gained from the project's multidisciplinary approach, which incorporates expertise from areas such as behavioural modelling, urban design, psychology, and operations research.
Participants can expect discussions on fostering attractive public transportation, optimising urban spaces, promoting walking and cycling, and refining organisational structures to support sustainable mobility. The event is open to a wide audience, including academics, urban planners, public officials, transportation agencies, and shared mobility service providers.
Distinguished keynote speakers, including Anders Wretstrand from Skånetrafiken, Anita Schöbel from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Francesco Corman and Kay Axhausen from ETH Zürich, Jim Walker from Walk21, Jonas de Vos from University College London, and Nigel Wilson from MIT, among others, will enrich the conference program with insights from academia and practical experience.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register for the two-day conference through the provided link. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of shaping the future of sustainable urban mobility!
