Creating the conditions for flexible, zero-emission, 100% electric city logistics

2 July 2021, 9-12am CET.

The event is organised as part of URBANIZED, a H2020 research project aiming to future proof cities with sustainable last-mile delivery by solving the trade-offs between “one size fits all” and “design for purpose” fleets. The project is working to provide the logistics market with the next generation of electric vehicles for efficient and effective last mile operations. To address the increase in electro-mobility and urbanisation, and the need for flexible and modular vehicle designs, URBANIZED will develop and demonstrate a multi-purpose, all electric light commercial vehicle well-suited for current and future urban areas.

This workshop’s main aim is to identify and co-define the appropriate mix of policies, strategies, and measures that can support the integration of these new modular, all electric vehicles in physical distribution activities and accelerate the electrification of the urban freight sector.

What to expect from this workshop:

  • Insights into the new generation of electric and modular vehicles developed by URBANIZED;
  • A debate on the main drivers and influencing factors that affect the level of BEVs market penetration in Europe;
  • A co-creation process for narrative future city logistics scenarios;
  • A joint exploration of the policy mix that can support the integration of these new electric vehicles in physical distribution activities.
