Overview of DRTs in Europe

06 August 2018

App-based DRT becomes increasingly popular in Europe. It is understood as a measure to increase accessibility in underserviced areas or off-peak times and can complement the existing public transport network for specific purposes. As part of a more extensive research exercise, POLIS works on creating an overview of app-based DRT services in Europe.

Initially we limited our research focus on services that operate in public-transport alike environments, so some services such as Clevershuttle and Uber Pool are not integrated yet. All Polis members are warmly invited to continue the discussion about the governance of DRT and other new mobility services at the meeting of the traffic efficiency working group, 25 October 2018 in Greenwich (London).

Please find the overview table at: App-Based-DRT-Europe.xlsx

We understand this as an open source exercise and welcome your comments and additions to the table. Please send an email to Michel Arnd (marnd@polisnetwork.eu) to point us to additional systems or if you spot a mistake.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed already, in particular Azarel Chamorro, Camila González Arango, Clement Guasco, Dörthe Balzer, Florian Wilkesmann, John Hawthorne, Nitin Maslekar, Olivier Lambert, Pasquale Cancellara, Peraphan Jittrapirom, Reinhold Stadler, Scott Shepard, Stephanie Leonard and Tom Vöge.
