ECOSTARS Forum “Cleaner Fleets – Authority meets Operator”

19 March 2014 Santander, Spain

Guided by the question: “Cleaner Fleets through recognition – does it work?” the forum will debate for whom the fleet recognition concept works, what could be improved for the future and which conditions are crucial for success.

The forum will focus on the needs of both authorities and operators of freight and passenger fleets. Local governments and operators will explain why they decided to run ECOSTARS. The Forum will conclude with a site visit to a fleet operation involved in ECOSTARS Cantabria. The ECOSTARS Forum marks the final event of the IEE co-funded ECOSTARS project.

Attendance is free of charge but prior registration is required.

More than 5 years of experience and uptake have made the ECOSTARS Fleet Recognition Scheme a recognized tool for local and regional authorities to engage with fleet operators. How can we get cleaner passenger and freight transport fleets on Europe’s streets? How do we encourage the faster introduction of vehicles using clean fuel technologies and efficient operations? The ECOSTARS approach to answer these questions is to (1) provide cities and regions with a method to engage with fleet operators, and (2) to reward, guide and advise fleet operators.
