TRA 2012 takes shape and negotiated airline discounts
TRA's February newsletter reports about the 13 high level strategic sessions planned for April. Chaired by well-known personalities from industry, research and the European institutions, the Strategic Sessions are forums on how sustainable mobility will be developed in the years to come and the importance of innovation in this process. Topics include electrification of road transport or intelligent transport systems, transport safety and user satisfaction, intermodal freight and logistics, sustainable mobility in cities for passengers and cooperation of international, EU, national and regional R&D programmes.
In addition, progress in shaping the 34 Special Sessions is being reported. The sessions last 75 minutes each, covering 12 cross-cutting topics of relevance to all modes, as well as topics of relevance to each specific transport mode. They are organised by national, European and international bodies, federations, associations, EU projects and initiatives, professional institutes and unions.
Waterborne is the highlighted transport mode in TRA's February newsletter as, for the first time, TRA 2012 in Athens covers all modes of surface transport.
The Star Alliance Official Airline Network is also discounted flight fares for delegates and guests who can benefit from the “Convention Plus” Programme. More information here.
