StratoClim Stakeholder Workshop on the socio-economic effects of wintertime cold-spells in European cities, Brussels 23 March

This event will showcase some of the activities of the StratoClim project regarding the socio-economic effects of winter-time cold-spells in Europe. The StratoClim project has developed a methodology and indicators to quantify the effect of cold spells on European cities and their preparedness. StratoClim is also foreseeing projections for the severity of cold-spells for a selection of cities. The event will be the occasion to share the methodology and results of the project’s analysis with stakeholders, while seeking their feedback on its appropriateness and ways to improve it.

Crucial sectors for managing and/or adapting to cold-spells are transport infrastructure and in particular: public transport and freight systems (e.g. food/fuel deliveries).
