SAVE THE DATE! 29/30 March 2017, Dubrovnik, SUMP Conference

Four parallel streams and related topic areas have been suggested:

  1. The Big Picture: Investigate the crucial interface between mobility planning, land use planning and urban design
  2. External support: Learn about potential external support sources beyond the city’s SUMP
  3. The integration and innovation challenge: Investigate areas of key policy interest, including freight, parking…
  4. Planning techniques: Methods made clear

Four years after the publication of the European Commission’s Urban Mobility Package (2013) and related SUMP Guidelines (2014), there is now a large and expanding network of cities committed to preparing and implementing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. This includes cities and institutions involved in various EU projects and initiatives, designed to drive forward mobility planning research, practice and innovation.

The European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans is the principal annual event enabling this international community of practitioners, policy makers, city staff and academics from across Europe to come together to debate key issues, highlight developments in mobility planning and exchange ideas and experience.

Last year's European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans attracted over 400 participants from the fields of transport planning and development, research and policy.
