Rotterdam and Edinburgh set up ECOSTARS schemes
ECOSTARS schemes provide public recognition and visibility for operators of commercial vehicles who are actively taking steps to improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and reduce their impact on local air quality. Freight and passenger fleets are eligible to register their vehicles. Rotterdam and Edinburgh are among the cities who are setting up local schemes.
The first project newsletter has been released and informs about new ECOSTARS fleets across Europe, the reference group and the first auditor training which will ensure star ratings to the same standards. This issue's "ECOSTARS Scheme in the Spotlight" is South Yorkshire, UK on which the European funded ECOSTARS project is based. The newsletter informs readers bi-annually about progress and upcoming events in the ECOSTARS project, the different ECOSTARS schemes and support to set up more schemes.
