Polis made the voice of cities heard at THE PEP symposium on air quality organised by WHO in Geneva , 14 November
The Symposium had a special focus on the reduction of emissions of air pollutants and noise, and the policy responses to tackle these problems.
Mr Paul Curtis from London European Partnership for Transport (LEPT) attended on behalf of Polis the panel discussion on “Green and health-friendly mobility: what is the policy response?”. The Transport, Health and Environment Pan European Programme – THE PEP (www.thepep.org), acts as policy platform that brings together ministries of transport, health and environment from all over Europe to promote integration of environment and health concerns into transport policies, with a special emphasis on urban transport issues.
WHO and THE PEP are preparing their fourth high-level meeting in Paris at the Transport Research Arena in April 2014.
