Paris presents its pollution-cutting measures

The plan aims at improving air quality through a set of pollution-cutting measures such as banning older-model vehicles, creation of tolls on urban motorways, speed reduction from 80 to 70 km/h on ring roads and introduction of new 30 km/h zones.

The measures require approval at ministerial level and the Paris Prefecture de Police.

The proposals are part of a plan to cut emissions in Paris by 30 per cent by 2015.

Recently Polis organised a working group meeting on air quality and active travel on 30 October. A presentation on the implementation of Low Emission Zones (ZAPA) in Paris was delivered by Mr Satya Proag. To read more, please visit the working group page.
