One month left to register for 2017 Polis Conference
Spotlight on the Closing plenary "The changing role of the local authority in transport service provision":
The rise of new mobility services such as bike, car sharing and ride sharing and information services, including driver information and smartphone travel apps has led to a growing role for the private sector in city and regional transport service provision. The more recent phenomenon of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is the latest manifestation of this shift in paradigm.
These developments are leading transport authorities to question what should be their role in the future. To what extent can they influence these third party services to ensure they support policy and to avert detrimental effects?
High level speakers have been confirmed:
- Seleta Reynolds General Manager Los Angeles Department of Transportation, President of NACTO
- Pascal Smet Minister of Mobility, Brussels Region, Polis member
- David O'Neill Head of Unit mobility services, Ile-de-France Mobilités, Polis member
