New speakers confirmed at Polis Working Group meeting on Health and Transport

The Polis Working Group on Health & Environment in Transport is organising a meeting and roundtable discussion on promoting Active Mobility and how to make the link between health and transportation planning.

New speakers have confirmend their participation:

  • Mr Christian Schweizer from WHO;
  • Mr Benjamin Collin from the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, presenting Transport Research Arena's (TRA) plans for sessions about active travel and health, and side events at THE PEP 4th High-level meeting in Paris under the 2014 French presidency of the International Transport Forum (ITF);
  • Mr Daniel Sauter, Sociologist from Urban Mobility Research, Switzerland, presenting perceptions and policies about walking;
  • Mr William M. Lyons from the Volpe National Transportation system Center, USA and Ms Leslie Meehan from Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, USA, will connect via telephone conference and will present the preparation of a health and transportation tool by the US Department of Transportation, including best practice from the US and Nashville.
