Member in the Spotlight: Evaluating mobility planning in Dresden
Even with a young SUMP, Dresden's approach of monitoring and evaluation of the SUMP and its implementation process has received recognition: Dresden along with Ghent, Bremen and Thessaloniki, Bremen was shortlisted for the most recent edition of the European SUMP Award which European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc presented in Brussels in March 2015.
Dr. Matthias Mohaupt, head of department for transport and development planning in Dresden, points out that monitoring the SUMP's implementation helps to identify problems early and to produce updates for decision makers and local stakeholders. He also stresses the importance of stakeholder involvement in an interview that has been published in 'Thinking Cities'
The interview has been published in the 'Thinking Cities' magazine, a joint publication of Polis and H3B Media. Issue 4, May/2015, page 53
