Incentive scheme to encourage walking and cycling launched in London
The points collected through the mobile phone app will be redeemable at a range of stores including Marks & Spencer. Transport for London (TfL) is backing the project which aims to boost the number of people walking and cycling in the capital.
Ben Plowden, director of surface transport planning at TfL, explained the scheme complements work underway to boost active travel in the city. "We’re particularly excited about the potential for this app to motivate people to cycle and walk during the London 2012 Games, when London’s roads and public transport network will be at their busiest", he sais.
