Dresden and Rome to present active travel measures at the upcoming Polis working group meeting on health and transport
The 2-day event will look at new approaches to encourage physical activity, replace car trips by active travel, and promote travel behaviour change.
Dr Kerstin Burggraf from the Dresden City Planning and Transport Development Department will present their healthy city planning approach and active travel measures in Dresden. The city joined the German as well as the European network "Healthy Cities" in 1991 and has developed several initiatives and projects ever since.
Mr Fabio Nussio, Roma Servizi per la Mobilita', will give an overview of the new Traffic Masterplan and active travel measures in the Eternal cities in the wake of last August's breaking news announcing the development of a large pedestrian area for walkers and cyclitsts around the Colosseumn in the heart of the city.
