Call for Sustainable Energy Europe Awards

Managed by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI) on behalf of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy, two types of awards will be presented: the Sustainable Energy Europe (SEE) Awards and the ManagEnergy Local Energy Action Award. Both awards aim to provide institutional recognition and increased visibility to best-in-class sustainable energy initiatives.

ManagEnergy Local Energy Action Award

Regional and local public authorities have an unquestionable role to play in achieving Europe’s 2020 climate and energy objectives. Launched in 2007, the ManagEnergy Local Energy Action Award is expressly designed to reward public authorities and energy agencies at the local and regional level that have shown outstanding achievements in the area of renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean transport.

Sustainable Energy Europe Awards

First launched in 2006, the SEE Awards recognise and promote outstanding projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and clean transport. Designed to welcome major stakeholders from the corporate and public sectors—as well as SMEs, multi-national industry associations, academic institutions and NGOs—the SEE Awards gather projects that contribute to the EU 2020 strategy and have a proven impact. The SEE Awards integrate five different categories according to different policy strands: awareness raising projects (Communicating), educational programmes (Learning), buildings (Living), energy savings (Consuming) and clean mobility schemes (Travelling).

The awards competition takes place in the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW from 24 to 28 June 2013).
