Brussels Public Transport continues to grow

The STIB explains the success by means of its attention to reduce waiting times and increasing comfort for the traveller. The metro is the most popular mode with 39% of the trips. The tram follows on a second place with 36% and the bus completes the final 25%.

The STIB sees a structural change in travel patterns in the region. The morning peaks starts earlier and ends later. Off peak travel increases as well as travel in weekends.
