Editorial

Dear members,

This week, Polis joined forces with UITP, the global network of public transport authorities and operators, and released an joint open letter on the possible transfer of European urban transport funds.

In the letter, we express our concerns about the Commission’s proposal to reallocate part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and of the Horizon 2020 programme to the EFSI mechanism (European Funds for Strategic Investment). We see a risk that the allocation of CEF and H2020 money to the EFSI will be at the expense of infrastructure and innovation projects, including sustainable urban and public transport projects. Read more about it in this InfoPolis.

You also find numoerous updates on Polis Working Group meetings in this InfoPolis. More information on the upcoming first call of the INTERREG EUROPE programme is also available now. Once the call is launched (probably mid June), it will only be open for one month, so we advise you to get prepared already!

I wish you a pleasant read!

Yours sincerely,

Karen Vancluysen
Secretary General
