Dear members,

A Happy New Year to all Polis members! InfoPolis is back after Christmas and New Year's break providing you an insight into the numerous upcoming activities this year.

Highly important, a number of Working Group activities are announced in this issue taking place in February, March and May: Polis members will discuss open data and smart cites in the Traffic Efficiency WG on 4/2/2015, bike sharing schemes on 5/3/2015 and transport safety and security during May's Global Road Safety Week. Bologna invites European Cities to 2015 European Cycling Challenge (ECC2015)

Many of the city that joined the past edition have already confirmed their participation. A dedicated app with new features for planners is now under development for the 2015 European Cycling Challenge.

European projects

Delivering improved interoperability of urban ITS

National/regional approaches to delivering urban ITS interoperability are more likely to succeed than a single European approach, owing to different institutional and market cultures. However, Europe has a key role to play in promoting the creation of these national/regional frameworks. These are some of the findings of the POSSE project which came to an end in December 2014.
