Dear members,

The highlight of this issue is the summary of the working group meeting on health and environment that took place on 7 and 8 April in Brussels. Presentations from the meeting are now online - please feel free to download them and share your thoughts.

At the same time, the European Commission has published a proposal for real-time traffic information specifications to be included in the ITS Directive. Polis has agreed to submit a position paper. You are invited to find out more in the included article.

Two weeks left to apply for funding from Do the Right Mix! Campaign

Two weeks are left for NGOs, local authorities, public bodies or schools/universities/research institutes to apply for up to EUR 7000 in funding for urban mobility awareness-raising action through the European Commission's Do the Right Mix! campaign.

The Polis Environment & Health in Transport working group met on April 7-8, 2014 in Brussels. The meeting looked at new approaches to encourage physical activity, replace car trips by active travel, and promote travel behaviour change.

European projects

Towards interoperable traffic systems in Europe

A series of national workshops will be held around Europe to debate the adoption of open specifications and standards (OSS) in transport. OSS are useful to support system interoperability and to overcome vendor lock-in, leading to lower costs and greater system innovation.
