InfoPolis now follows a fortnightly rhythm, and we are pleased to provide you with October's first edition. We have increased the frequency of publication to improve our delivery of information which will be more regular and up-to-date.

European capitals commit to further use waterways for freight movement

Five European capitals signed the charter ‘Connecting with waterways: a Capital Choice’ in Brussels in the presence of the European Commission.

First Autolib’ stations and vehicles operating in Paris

Some 33 Autolib’ stations, offering between 4 and 6 parking bays, are now open in Paris. The 33 stations along with 66 Autolib’ vehicles, called BlueCar, were opened to the public on 3 October following a public demonstration on 2 October

"Team Polis” from the City of Dresden will compete in a German-wide bike competition called "Stadtradeln" from 16 September till 6 October.

A new extranet platform for professionals in Toulouse

In September 2011, Tisséo, the public transport authority in Toulouse, has launched a platform dedicated to commuter plans where companies and administrations can share experience, facilitating the development and the implementation of workplace mobility plans.

Integrated demand-responsive transport produces cost savings in Glasgow

A joint project involving Glasgow City Council (GCC) and the regional passenger transport authority, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), has been short-listed for the UK Transport Awards following recognition at the Scottish Transport Awards earlier this year.

The mobility web portal www.eltis.org has been created more than 10 years ago to become Europe's main portal on urban mobility. To further improve it a survey has been set up.

Cities discussed transport challenges of large events

Cities from the User Group of the STADIUM project met for the third time in September in Italy to discuss transport challenges for large events they will host - such as the Olympics and FiFA World Cups.

Registration open for CityHush 1st Dissemination Seminar: Reducing Transport Noise in Cities

On Wednesday 23 November, results of the CityHush project will be presented for the first time! Partners will share intermediate results on Q-zones, noise score rating models, low-noise vehicles, low-noise road surfaces, and noise barriers from 2pm - 5.15pm in Brussels.
