Utrecht: congestion bonus works!

Research shows that the Dutch project 'Spitsvrij' is beneficial to society. 'Spitsvrij' combines a series of actions of which the rewarding of commuters to stay out of peak hour traffic is the most remarkable. The project "Spitsvrij" makes people more aware of their travel choices and decreases congestion.

Tallinn international conference on Free Public Transport - presentations available.

On October 26th, Tallinn held an international conference on free public transport. The event was organised to discuss the European potential of free public transport. Tallinn is set to make its public transport free of charge for passengers from 1 january 2013 onwards.

Reducing transport noise in cities: CityHush and Hosanna toolbox to be presented in Stockholm

On 10 and 11 December, the two EU co-funded projects CityHush and Hosanna invite you to Stockholm to learn about the tools developed to reduce transport noise in cities. A dedicated workshop for local authorities is part of the programme on 11 December.

TIDE project: you decide which innovative urban transport measures are worth exploring!

The TIDE projects invites to suggest and prioritise innovative measures in the field of pricing, non-motorised modes, advanced traffic management for traveller information systems, electric mobility and public transport organisation. This survey will help the TIDE project to decide which innovative urban transport measures should be explored in the course of the three years of project activity. TIDE will support 15 cities in planning the implementation of the selected measures.

Noise exposure estimation methods in the EU compared

A new study has investigated five methods (END, VBEB, NEAREST, ALE and CLOSEST) of estimating noise exposure and identified some of the reasons for variation in the data they produce.

Contribute to the EPA parking dataset!

EPA is carring out an update of the project “Data Collection” with the aim of getting a better knowlegde of the big figures of the parking industry throughout Europe, in order to better represent the parking sector’s interests and demonstrate its relevance in urban areas. An easy to fill in questionnaire has been developed to submit the data. The deadline for submission is 13 December 2012.
