Dear members,

we are pleased to announce that the draft programme of the 2012 Polis Conference has been released! We are proud to present an exciting conference programme, which allows a number of Polis members to showcase their transport achievements to an international audience.

The 2012 Annual Polis Conference takes place on 29-30 November in Perugia, Italy. This year's Annual General Assembly (AGA) will be hold on 28 November in the afternoon. Registration is now open to members of which we informed you in a mailing last week. Registration will be open publicly as of 20 September after which places can no longer be guaranteed.

2012 Polis Conference programme available

The high quality of submitted abstracts for the 2012 Annual Polis Conference (29-30 November in Perugia, Italy) allowed us to put together an exciting conference programme: This year's conference addresses topics such as financing transport, tools to aid decision making on network management and ITS, promoting quality in public transport, deployment of electric vehicles in city-regions and benchmarking urban mobility.

How can we be better? Register now for the Second EPA-Polis Parking Workshop - 20 September - Helsinki

At the second Joint EPA-Polis Parking Workshop, parking experts will try to answer the question how quality in parking management can be improved in order to better manage and balance urban transport demand. With over 50 people registered so far, the event will without a doubt provide an ideal forum to exchange thoughts between urban transport professionals.

First EU Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) award launched

Within the framework of its Sustainable Urban Mobility campaign, the European Commission launched the EU’s first award to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local and regional authorities. Under the inaugural theme ‘stakeholder and citizen participation’, local and regional authorities can submit their applications for the award of EUR 10 000 on www.dotherightmix.eu.
