Dear members,

the 2012 Polis Conference programme is under preparation. In July, more than 130 abstracts are being reviewed. In August we foresee to release a draft programme of the Polis Conference, which will take place 29-30 November in Perugia.

Two new FP7 calls have been published by the European Commission of which you read in this InfoPolis. We also encourage you to visit @POLISnetwork on twitter with or without your own account. It is easy, quick and convinient to stay informed about latest initiatives and interesting facts - just like already 360 twitter users appreciate it who follow Polis tweets!

Polis joins the Smart Move High level group to discuss doubling of coach and bus use

The Smart Move High Level Group (HLG) was born on 29 February 2012, at the 2nd IRU/EU Road Transport Conference on “Efficient solutions for making road transport greener” held in Brussels. It aims to strengthen cooperation between all relevant public and private EU stakeholders to determine the appropriate actions to effectively double collective passenger transport by bus and coach and achieve rapid and sustainable growth in the EU.

Thames Cable Car Is Now Opened to the Citizens in London (UK)

London launched a cable car linking the south-east with the east part of the city. Besides providing a useful addition to London's transport network, the "Emirates Air Line" will offer to its passangers a spectacular bird's eye view over the Thames.

European projects

CityHush results to reduce traffic noise shared in new newsletter and upcoming workshops for local authorities

The EU project CityHush supports city administrations with the development and implementation of noise action plans according to the directive EC 2002/49. As the project entered the final phase, results have been published in the new newsletter and two workshops for local authorities will be held later in 2012 in Perugia (Italy) and Stockholm (Sweden).
