Editorial

Dear members,

We hope you all received our ‘Save the date’ announcement for this year’s Polis conference, which will take place on 6 and 7 December in Brussels, preceded by the Annual General Assembly on the 5th. The call for speakers for the conference will open in March and we look forward to receiving many proposals from your side to showcase your local best practice and innovations! As mentioned before, our annual conference as well as the most important European projects events and key conferences are being compiled on a dedicated page of the Polis website.

One of those upcoming key events is the 4th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), which takes place on 29 & 30 March in Dubrovnik (Croatia), and will focus on Intelligent Planning for Sustainable Mobility. Polis will play an active role at the conference, with the moderation of two parallel sessions, a presentation on Smart Cities, and with various projects in which Polis is involved featuring in the programme. One of them is SUMPs-Up which kicked-off last October 2016 and where Polis manages the so-called SUMPs-Up Innovation Pilot Pool. The first call of the Innovation Pilot Pool, which will provide micro-funding to support SUMP activities in cities, will be launched in the course of March. In addition, we would like to invite you to take part in the short online survey to help understand cities’ needs and barriers when trying to develop Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).

Please login to the Polis website as a member to access all information addressed to Polis members only (green headlines). If you do not remember your login details, don’t hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to seeing you at one or more of the upcoming meetings and events and for now I wish you a pleasant read.

Kind regards,

Karen Vancluysen

Secretary General
