Editorial

Dear Polis members,

I hope you have all enjoyed a relaxing summer break and have returned to work full of energy, we certainly have!

Let me first remind you that we have many Polis events lined up for you in the coming period, with our workshop on Air Quality and Clean Vehicles Procurement and a Clean Vehicles Working Group meeting on 12-13 September in Paris, the Polis and EPA annual workshop which will discuss, as part of a cluster of parking events on 15 and 16 September in Cracow, how parking planning and regulation can shape cities and how cities do get organized, and finally our Working Group meeting on Bikesharing schemes on 12-13 October in Paris. Further details are once more included in this newsletter.

If you’re planning to attend the CIVITAS Forum conference in Gdynia from 28-30 September, also make sure to register quickly, as not many seats are left! Talking about CIVITAS, we are proud to announce that over summer, Polis, as coordinator, kicked off the new CIVITAS SATELLITE project, and will thus be in charge of the first ever project that is responsible for establishing better cooperation mechanisms and creating synergies between all Horizon 2020 projects funded under the urban mobility priority. It is clear that this gives us a very strategic role in the European urban transport scene and will allow us even more to bring the latest innovations in the field closer to our cities. We’ll certainly keep you posted on further developments!

Today also sees the start of a range of other H2020 urban mobility projects resulting from the previous call, including SUMPs UP, a major action that will help cities across Europe with the development and implementation of their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. Keep an eye on the next InfoPolis issues to learn more about the Activity Fund that Polis will be managing in this project, and that will allow cities to get financial and expert SUMP assistance! You’ll soon see more partner searches circulating as well for the next H2020 urban mobility call, for which preparations will gear up, now that Summer holidays are over.

Please login to the Polis website as a member to access all information addressed to Polis members only (green headlines). If you do not remember your login details, don’t hesitate to contact us.

I wish you a pleasant read and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and meetings!
