The focus has been on smart cities this week in Brussels. Yesterday, the European Comission's DG MOVE invited 200 Smart Cities stakeholders to discuss the take up of smart urban mobility in Europe. To make sure the view of Europe's local and regional governments is considered in this discussion, we briefed stakeholders about our Smart Cities policy paper the day before at Polis' second Urban Mobility Breakfast. Thank you to Île-de-France, whose Brussels liason office hosted the breakfast!
The breakfast was very well attended and key messages well received: smart goes beyond technology, not only major capital cities can be smart and the the smartest city is not brilliant if citizens aren't put at the heart of it. Read more about the event in this InfoPolis.
