Bretagne Développment Innovation (FR)

Bretagne Development Innovation is the regional agency for development and innovation for the region Bretagne. We encourage Breton economic stakeholders to work together and play a role in the leadership and coordination of regional economic development and innovation strategy. One of our effort is dedicated to mobility activities.
BDI achieves this through forecasting, strategic and operational governance, networking events, surveillance, structural programmes, project engineering, and promotional activities.

Three main objectives:

Structuring strong industries for greater competitiveness: Together with the regional government's economic policy, and alongside the Breton competition hubs, BDI incites discussion between stakeholders in all industries (digital, farming and food, automobile and transport, defence, maritime, ocean-based renewable energy) in order to develop new strategies that serve the region as a whole. When applied, these common roadmaps make Brittany more competitive and appealing both in Europe and worldwide, retaining its highly skilled workforce and creating new jobs.

Expanding businesses' innovation potential: Based on the Regional Pattern of Innovation (RPI), ratified in 2013 BDI leads a broad network of stakeholders in innovation that covers the entire region. The objective is to forge connections between these stakeholders and to bring them together in RPI pilot schemes: Innov'acteurs, the innovation index, launching cross-disciplinary programmes...
The cornerstone of innovation coordinated by BDI, this network plays a fundamental role in assisting businesses in finding new partners that complement their innovation projects, and in providing access to European tools and networks.

Management and implementation of the economic attractiveness strategy: BDI manages the region's economic attractiveness strategy. The agency develops the region's economy, coordinating events to attract new investors. It implements promotional activities for the region and highlights sectors of its economy in the context of the Brittany brand that is itself developed and managed by BDI. The brand is intended to be shared with all businesses that use Brittany to increase their visibility and promote their interests or products and services both at home and abroad.
