The use of public transport in Catalonia has grown by 1.2% and reached 990.3 million trips in 2011. This is close to the record demand registered in 2008, which was 992 million trips. The area of Barcelona reached its historical maximum: 935.4 million trips in 2011 mean an increase of 1.4% compared to 2010. The demand rised specifically in Lleida, Tarragona and Girona continues, with an increases up to 1.7%.

200,000 unemployed people will have an 80% discount on public transport in Catalonia. The Government of Catalonia introduced this measure to facilitate mobility to find a new job. Catalonia became a Polis member this month.
