Burgos (ES)
Located in the North-central part of Spain, Burgos has been active in Europe as a CIVITAS (Caravel) city. Since 2005, several measures have been studied and implemented, including the introduction of clean public and private fleets, the promotion of collective mobility services, and innovative mobility and information management tools. All these activities have been the result of the cooperation between different partners.
The City Council is responsible for demonstration activities and investment, the ‘Technological Institute of Castilla y León’ supports technical and training activities, and the ‘Strategic Plan of the City of Burgos Association’ develops all the tasks related to dissemination and coordination. Thanks to this, the city of Burgos received the 2007 CIVITAS award.
Burgos is involved in several EU projects including:
SAMERU, NICHES+, CARAVEL (Civitas II project).
