This position paper details Polis views toward the upcoming European Commission strategy on the decarbonisation of Transport in Europe expected to be published on 20th July.
Call for more investment on Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) transport grants
At the occasion of the informal Council of Ministers on transport, the European Citizens Mobility Forum has issued a communication toward the Action Programme published in 2015 by the platform.
As a full member of the platform, Polis fully endorsed the key message as well as the whole action programme.
Joint letter by POLIS, Eurocities, ETSC and T&E calling to include the direct vision requirements for Heavy Duty Vehicles in the upcoming revision of the General Safety and Pedestrian Safety Regulations
On July 8th, Polis together with ECF, Eurocities, ETSC, T&E and CONEBI issued an open letter in order to support an amendment in the White Paper Midterm Review on an EU Roadmap for cycling.
The vote in the Transport committee of the European Parliament is expected next week, and the plenary vote will be in September.
Polis together with Eurocities sent an open letter to MEPs in order to vote for ambitious National Emission Ceiling Directive to tackle air pollution in urban areas.
In that perspective, both organization are calling for ambitious 2025 targets to limitate the emission ofParticulate Matters, Nitrogen Oxides and Ammonia. Furthermore, we also advocate for the implementation of Real Driving Emission Test procedure, which should reflect the reality in terms of pollutants emitted by cars. Europe should adopt an integrated approach in these issues.
On 8th of April 2015, Polis and UITP addressed a letter to the Members of the European Parliament in order to raise their concerns about theCommission’s proposal to reallocate a part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and ofthe Horizon 2020 program to the European Funds for Strategic Inevstments (EFSI) mechanism.
