European Electromobility Observatory launched

The European Commission launched a new instrument to track the uptake of electromobility in Europe: the European Electromobility Observatory (EEO). Polis is part of the consortium implementing the EEO.

TIDE call for champion cities open

The mission of the European-funded TIDE project is to enhance the broad transfer and take-up of 15 innovative urban transport and mobility measures throughout Europe and to make a visible contribution to establish them as mainstream measures. TIDE will select ten champion cities to develop concrete and tailored implementation scenarios which will help them integrate one of the TIDE innovative measures in their local transport policy.

Göteborg's congestion charge on track: traffic down 20 per cent - update

The Göteborg congestion charge was launched on 1 January 2013. First reports after week 1 and week 2 of the scheme show that it is working as expected. The congestion charge is part of the West Swedish Agreement that aims to create an attractive, sustainable and growing region.

The ICT-Emissions project will organise its second exploitaiton group meeting on 7th March in Brussels. Participation is open to stakeholders from the automotive industry and OEMs.

The city of Amsterdam has won the World Smart Cities Awards 2012 with its Open Data Program for transport and mobility. This program aims at improving the accesibility of the city. It is a part of the Amsterdam Smart City approach.

Minimetro, escalators & elevators for better transport in Perugia

Polis president Perugia has initiated several transport projects in the framework of its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) and offers alternative mobility solutions needed in hill top cities. This includes escalators and the minimetro, which are fully integrated into the traditional public transport system. Read more.
